I've never had a car where I can see the interior temperature from my phone before, but damn it's pretty hot right now.

50 degrees C.

Interested to see what others have got theirs up to and is there a point where the car takes over to cool itself a little.

I do like it when household pets have human names, preferably relatively old-fashioned names if at all possible: Mavis, Walter, Mildred, Arthur, Dorothy etc.

I’d not considered it with cars. So, why Gerald?

On a stag do in Newquay about 20 years ago one of my mates bought a lighter from a souvenir shop. They had every name on the lighters under the sun and he chose Gerald. It just made me laugh and when naming the Tesla in the app it just popped into my strange mind as a suitably crap name*.

*apologies to anyone called Gerald that reads this

Awesome. Love it!

Mine’s called Captain Ludicrous+ (being the same blue and American, it reminded me of Captain America). Think I need to be more original in the future.

p.s. mine only hit 45 Celsius today

Mine currently says 50 too. Is this as high as it will show?

54 currently for mine. I’ve seen it in the 60s, but I’ve got roof blinds fitted at the moment which do keep some sun out.

I don’t bother with the cabin overheat protection. It only works for 12 hours after last driven and eats battery. Easy enough to vent and then pre-cool from the app before I use the car.

Cabin overheat protection will keep it at 40 degrees for 12 hours after it has been driven - assuming it is switched on in the car.

Or... just access via the phone app, switch on climate control, turn off climate control and the overheat protection will keep it to 40 or below.

I've seen some temperatures way over 50 in mine over the past couple of days - but am keeping it at 40 now, it doesn't use that much power... about 2% a day.

That's toasty!

I did 180 miles in mine this morning and thought I'd get some free electricity on the way home so added 50kw from the Heathrow Supercharger. When I got home the fans ran at full chat for at least 30 minutes, it was really loud!

Love the other Tesla names so far.

Here’s my Model 3:

BJ number plate that ends is JSY: BJ Jizzy. Unfortunately not a 69 plate ☹️

As for pet names, we had a cat named Rodney.

Her Majesty’s Glorious Midlands.

The car is on the drive that gets full sun from noon onwards, so all of my cars get roasting inside on days like we’ve had recently.

Wow! All that grim up North stuff must be nonsense ;-) Yes I class anything north of the M25 up north.

I wonder what temps Tesla's in the likes of Dubai get up to then?
