Tesla 7 seat 4x4 SUV ''Ludicrous''. The ultimate road car?
Discussion
I have said before that all electric doesn't float my particular boat but a car fanatic friend currently driving a Jaguar F Pace R with over 600 bhp is about to chop the 'cat' in for the Tesla.
He claims the 762 bhp, all weather beast, featuring room for 7 people and simply unholy performance has to be the best car ever invented. For him it ticks every box.
Anyone agree? I have to say, the performance figures he's sent me are actually ridiculous.
(I really bloody hope i am NOT warming to all-electric motive power!)

Not the ultimate road car, but aside from its party-trick acceleration it's still a very competent allrounder if you don't regularly do long journeys.
For an ultimate road car you'd want better quality equipment and a much more involving driving experience.
Nowt wrong with it being propelled by a low-centre-of-gravity and low-maintenance motor; that's actually a bonus (notwithstanding the above).

One of these parked next to me a couple of weeks back , I guess everyone loves the party trick doors , must be a big selling point , I thought they were very unnecessary on an suv especially one that looks pants . The shape of it just looks weird and it had some Matt finish paint job , all this needs to be on a Lamborghini not a suv tesla . Definitely not for me even if I could afford it .

As a road car, to transport lots of people and things, it certainly takes some beating if you have the cash to buy one!
It's about as exciting as mashed potato though, and slightly less fun to drive, but if you simply want a (very) fast SUV, it's gota be right up there on your list!
It’s spelt minivan or people carrier if you’re from Europe. It's about as exciting as mashed potato though, and slightly less fun to drive, but if you simply want a (very) fast SUV, it's gota be right up there on your list!
I do wonder how many people commenting on this have actually driven a recent one?
I test drove a model X Performance around 6 months ago and it was a very nice car with comfortable seats, loads of space, great visibility and incredible performance, the build quality seemed fine and the interior was a nice place to be, it was fairly ponderous to drive but that is normal for big heavy SUVs.
I would not buy one because I don’t need a big SUV but I would certainly consider it if I did.

Sounds impressive reading those figures but I’m not sure it’ll have me leaping out of bed at 5am on a Saturday to go for a drive.
I doubt anyone with a X and needing 7 seats will leaping out of bed at 5am for anything other than manage the family horde .As a family wagon I love ours, 6 people, 3 bikes (with room for more), yes a Ford Galaxy will carry the same but am not sure anyone aspires to own a people carrier??
For family duties the only thing I would replace the X with is another one.
