Hi thinking of pushing the button on a new Teslar model 3, I understand you can reject the car within the first month and get a full refund, if you don't the like the car.
has anyone been through this process? Painless?
Is this a new way to get a month's free car hire?has anyone been through this process? Painless?

It's not one month. Tesla have a 7 day return policy. It's on their website. https://www.tesla.com/en_GB/support/tesla-return-p...has anyone been through this process? Painless?
I returned my Model 3 last year within the return window.
It's an easy process and I got a full refund in 10 days.

Out of curiosity, why did you return it? I looked at a Model 3 demo and the paint finish was horrendous.I returned my Model 3 last year within the return window.

It's a brilliant EV, it was the Performance model, so rather astonishing in many respects. My paint finish was impeccable, and I found no issues with panel gaps or interior fit and finish. I was actually shocked at that, as I've heard horror stories. Alas, it was stuff like a faulty seatbelt upon handover that didn't appear to be a big deal to the person wanting me to sign for the car, and alas, no matter what I tried, the seats and driving position were really uncomfortable resulting in leg and knee pain (never had that when I've driven S or X models but those are way out of my budget, brand new) - I also noticed the driver's seat rocking back and forth a bit on the motorway.
Finally, whilst many aspects of the car were genuinely light years ahead of any other car, I found I didn't like some aspects of how the car drove, especially the steering, which felt too nervous and twitchy, for me. Refinement was also quite crap after 50mph (in terms of excessive road and wind noise) and refinement is something that is important to me. I had pre-ordered years ago, so there was no chance of a test drive before purchasing prior to UK launch.
Since they don't offer test drives rejecting is the only way to try the car out for many people. When you reject you can't buy the same spec car again for 12 months.
The small size and awkward driving position are things you really need to test out before committing.
Good news is that this means there are more nearly-new Teslars on the market at a discount.

Where did you get your information? They have been offering test drives since post UK launch and now offer zero contact test drives due to the pandemic. The small size and awkward driving position are things you really need to test out before committing.

Interesting, maybe it was only the US where they stopped. The official word was that you couldn't test drive but you could just reject the car in the first week.https://www.tesla.com/en_GB/drive
