Hopefully my M3P is being offloaded the Grand Mark as I type...

Our fleet insurers Allianz require a CAT5 compliant ‘Tracker’ (the Tesla standard security

does not match this requirement).

Anyone managed to successfully challenge this?

In terms of the tracker required

Allianz state that the ‘SmarTrack’ Cat5 & ‘Vodafone Protect’ are both compatible with the

Tesla’s as far as they are aware

I have the Vodafone protect system / fob on our hydrogen Nexo and it is a nuisance.

Having to carry around a fob somewhat diminishes the appeal of using just my phone as the key for the Tesla..

Advice and experiences welcomed wink

I’ve got a model S100D on my company fleet policy with Allianz. It was 106k 20 months ago and they were more than happy with the Tesla system. Normal rules for our policy is any car over 50k needs a CAT5 tracker.

I can only guess that increasing number of Tesla thefts using signal repeaters are forcing insurers to use 3rd party trackers.

True maybe for Model S/X but not the 3 as it doesn't come with a fob.

Yes, but I bet a brand-wide theft rate may effect their decision. Since Model 3 is fairly new, they don't have enough data so they're using data from other models in the brand.

The thefts that are not happening? For the fault tesla fixed in a patch 3 days after it was in the news?

Afaik there is no definitive fix for S/X , they've just added pin-to-drive function a few months later which is a feature not many owners activate.
