The real question, how many trips do you have to do to get the autodoc upgrade for the space-station?

Estimates vary but it's said Tesla have taken upwards of 1.5 million $100 deposits, if nothing else that's got to help with cash flow.
sure 150,000,000 $ loan at 0% are not a bad move (or 150,000,000 invested at 5% p.a., depending on what you're doing with that money)...

Anyone thinking Tesla / Elon are rubbing their hands together over a paltry 150mill interest free cash loan are not really thinking this through.
Administration of those deposits, banking charges for 1.5mill transactions etc etc etc mean Tesla will make a significant loss if those deposits are all refunded
And 150mill is nothing, literally a drop in the ocean for a major car manufacturer.
Tesla have already sold 900,000 cars this year and it's only September. That's over 40 BILLION turnover.
Ps. Tesla are making over £8000 profit per vehicle this year due to their progress in high standardisation across model range.

The build quality on normal Tesla's is poor, now you have an unforgiving material. I foresee massive panel gaps, things looking odd.

The funniest part though is people will still buy them.

This perfectly sums up who I think the type of driver who will buy these hideous things.

BMW / Audi will lose their place at top of the list for attracting arrogant nkobs who don’t give two ducks about anyone else.

I would just feel silly driving that. Although there are knobheads that buy the latest huge Ford Mitsubishi Ranger Raptor Warrior Intruder yikes type vehicles, so no doubt there will be some cretins that want it

I’ll admit that when the first concept came out, I did have some appreciation for it, but that is mainly down me liking the ‘cyberpunk’ style of cars(essentially futuristic 80’s cars). Looking at those photos though, it just looks like something that was made in a shed on a tight budget.

Am I the only one thinking it would be a nightmare on a bright sunny day, reflecting off the bonnet for the driver, and everywhere else for other road users.

Don't worry, it will be so tarnished and fingerprinty(?) that it'll look like an old cistern component.

I would'e want to park anywhere near a thing like that in case it scorches its surroundings.

I wonder if it can be heat treated like a stainless steel exhaust?

If so, the below colours should be achievable:

Pale Yellow 550 F
Straw Yellow 640 F
Dark Yellow 700 F
Brown 735 F
Purple Brown 790 F
Dark Purple 840 F
Blue 1000 F
Dark Blue 1110 F

Pulled those temps out from this website which talks about how to colour stainless steel:

https://makeitfrommetal.com/can-i-anodize-stainles...

Looks like the matt black Cybertruck shown earlier in the thread is black oxide treated stainless steel.
