Goodlife's 3R hit's eBay on Tuesday evening at 8.00pm. No Reserve.

In the near two years of knowing Noble, and 7 months of owning one I've never driven a more driver-focussed car. Lee Noble has created a package that beats the pants off everything else, from not only his product, but also his customer service - as anyone who knows Lee, Bob, Simon, Stuart, etc will testify. When were you last invited to the Factory Christmas party of the company that built your car?

So why sell?

To be perfectly honest I've found it harder and harder to justify such a self indulgence when I've got 4 kids and a Mrs. Having just purchased house in France the final straw was placed in the saddle meaning only one thing - finances need to be drawn from the Noble. When the economy picks up and the coffers (and Mrs!) allow, I'll be back for a GTC/M400 without hesitation.

But from next week onwards, you will more likely find me on the BMW or Audi forum asking how to get Nitrous fitted to my sluggish M5/S4/S6

Sell the wife on the Internet. Job lot or for spare parts. Kidneys go for £50k, which is roughly the price of a Noble. Just get her to sell one of them, if you need for for the ironing.

Not met you, but had a good PH dialogue. Good luck.
Look forward to meeting you one day.....in a Noble, of course.
Chris.

Well not quite. Just cancelled the auction as the PH classifieds seemed to have done the job!

Nick Whale have come up trumps with an XKR plus a load of cash. All being well the trade happens Wednesday. Then need to book a visit to either Racing Green or Paramount to give the old girl some more horses and fit her with dancing shoes

Will need to get a monster power upgrade to match Noble's grunt-to-weight ratio (XKR is 1700Kg) so that's nearly 700bhp to match an M400! Think I'll settle for less than that else it might get a tad expensive

Might come along to the driver training day just to act as a rolling road-block! Then again I'm sure the VMAX banked track will show who is really boss

Good lad. We're about to get an XKR convertible as the daily driver, the Mrs still won't drive the Noble

What's the story with the power upgrades then?

Pipe - Yes.

Getting one that liberates plenty more horses and makes the XKR sound like this.

Slippers - Not yet. Do they do a slipper clutch?

When I'm getting older, I'll find my way into one of those X5 thingys.

Need to look at Paramount Performance (www.paramount-performance.com) or Racing Green (www.racecar.co.uk/arden). Both companies are well established and can take your XKR to 450+ bhp, while getting it handling properly as well.

Just had some figures back from Paramount.

£2500 gets you to 400bhp by adding a better flowing and sounding exhaust, plus induction kit and air filters.

£6450 gets you to 450bhp (or 475+ bhp if you have a 4.2 engine).

Add another £500 to remove the 155 limiter and between £1200-£3500 to get the it handling like a sportscar (New springs, uprated Bilstein shocks, etc).

I'm (probably) going to go for the 400bhp upgrade plus the suspension tweaks, plus the delimiter which is a must for Brunters V-MAX. All in around £4k.

Correct, the 2001 is a 4L.

Just tell the Mrs the upgrades 'were done at the service'.

I did that for the noble 340bhp upgrade. I think she realised after about 200M down the road as the back end began slithering about

Not a nice way to talk about your missus. Should have got her a seat fitting?

I'm now now longer a 3R owner, but instead an XKR owner. Bit of a sad day but I'll be back to buy an M400 when they've depreciated a bit. Am I still allowed to post on the Noble forum?

In my defense having personally covered 7100 miles in a 3R that's probably more than almost anyone else in the country has

Managed to hit 1.35 units on the way home without trying too hard so she'll do . I think the XKR might actually be quicker beyond 1.2 units than the Noble, but it'a hard to tell as the experience is chalk and cheese.
