GTO - What's in a name?
Discussion
I'm fairly new to this Noble game.
I always thought that GTO stood for "Gran Turismo Omologato".
I can't see much Gran Turismo in any Noble - examples of GT to me include 928, Bentley, Maserati coupe and perhaps the ultimate - the Ferrari 456
As for Omologato. This implies homologation for some form of motor sport - and I can't see that the M12 has been. There are some notable exceptions (Mitsubishi, various yank-mobiles), but Noble shouldn't be mentioned in the same breathe as overweight boulevard cruisers.
I'm not meaning to stir anything here (honest!), just curious as to why the car was named "GTO".
