Further to yesterdays posting, I have now secured the best insurance quote I can find. £700.35 with Tesco online. Does anyone know of anything better?

David , that's very good but do you have a second car?

Yes I do have another car which also has full NCB and a third one which has 1yr NCB. Both of these are with CIS. Does this make a difference?

I'm curious: did Tesco Direct give you an equivalent discount (ie: 'mirrored' your existing discount) to give you the low quote of £700.35 on your Noble? When I tried them they would not mirror so the quote was without discount and was excessive?

When completing the online quotation form, there were no questions about a second car. It asked how many years NCB I had, to which I answered 5yrs. I intend to cancel the existing policy with CIS as this car has now been sold. No doubt I will have to supply proof of the NCB to Tesco but this should'nt be a problem.

At the moment it is at the quotation stage and there may be further questions when I accept and make the payment online.

I'll let you know what happens.

Dave.

Note also that Egg use the same underwriters (same data entry system), but they can have slightly different approaches to Tesco on whether a car is "standard" or not.

When I had my tuscan I found admiral to be the cheapest...I am now with...don't laugh...elephant.co.uk...it happens to be admiral but with a pure internet based customer interface...you reap the savings.

Dave, this, I suspect, is why you got such a good quote from this type of (ie: generalist) company! They will want to see your proof of NCB document, and you can only get by ceasing/cancelling your existing 5 years earned policy.

Don't get me wrong, these type of quotes (Direct Line, Admiral AA, etc., etc.) are excellent for a motor like the Noble BUT, as has previously been discussed here, are no good for people with more than one car!

I just tried Elephant .co.uk and they would not quote for a Noble but thanks anyway. Dave.
