Hi Guys,

My new 3R is fan-blooming-tastic I have to say!! Still driving around with that big smile on my face!

But a little problem, looks like I need new disks at the front because they are warped. Now I have had the car from new and it has about 2500 miles on it now in about 4 weeks. I bedded the brakes in etc for the first 600 miles or so. I have been on one 'track' day, but it was not a real track day since i was with a tutor to learn about the car, so although there was a lot of braking it was not around, around, around a track.

Even so, I have been thinking about this, 2500 miles? AP Racing disks? One of the reasons I bought this car is because I belived this kinda stuff would not happen, my Audi S4 used to get Warped disks, but that was just because it was not ment for hard driving, as opposed to the Noble ...

Any suggestions as to why this could have happened?

Cheers,
Rich.

PS. I normally drive calm for a few miles to let things cool down at the end of any 'spirited driving' and never leave the handbrake on while hot, not that that would make any difference to the front brakes mine you.

I'll wheel this one out again: read here

It may be that your disks are not 'warped' but rather they have an uneven deposit of pad material on them. Check the article for corrective action.

Top advice and it worked for me.

Here's the discussion about my 'warped' discs.

Thanks guys. Sounds like what I have also, since as you mentioned nacnud, the 'grabbing' every time it rotates at slow speed with the brakes lightly on...

So if this is the case how can I resolve this? is it a case of getting them re skimmed?

Doens't the article explain what to do? IIRC just try bedding them in again as per the instructions.

Thanks for your help guys ..

So, can I get a harder wearing disk + pads that can deal with higher temps? I assume this is something that my local dealer could assist with?

The factory or your dealer can supply you with Ferodo DS2500 for fast road and track day use, and harder compound and you have to replace disks very often!
