Does anyone know what would be required to buy a used Noble in the U.K. and ship to the states. Does the car have to be altered? Other than the right hand drive, can they be made to dive legally in the U.S.?

Not sure about all of the details, but to import a car to the US the car cannot have a drivetrain present whether it be new or used it does not matter. Good try though!

so you will un- install the drivetrain and ship it seperately to a freind nearby. when u get the car, reinstall it and have fun.

How much do you need to take off? Could you get away with just removing the drive shafts?

If only it were that simple...well its not, I am sorry to say! Since the engine originated outside the US and was not intended for use in the US it will not be usable in, thats right, you guessed it, the US. There may be a loophole or something with this, but I think it would be cheaper and less of a hassle to just buy a new one from 1G Racing or wait for the used market for Nobles to build up here.

The engine regardless of whether it is already installed or added later must be certified for US emission standards to get the car licensed for road use.

You could buy a used car in Europe...maybe with blown engine...import just the chassis...install certified engine sourced here. But you would have to buy at significant discount to save any money over buying a new chassis from 1G.

If you are buying just for the track and do not need to license for the road it is much easier but still costly. There are companies that specialize in importing non legal cars.

You can get temporary permits for foreign cars visiting the US...not sure of the time limits
