Finally getting to collect my 3R on Friday and with all the experience out there now of the R Im looking to collate top tips for running in and day to use.

As Columbo might say "Just one more question", has anyone fitted turbo timers to their cars?

Cheers,

Alan

Alan,

Turbo timers were discussed quite recently. I believe the resultant conclusion was that they are not required. Would have to search to discover why...

Allan.

I had a turbo timer on my Scooby.

TBH you dont really need one. Just let it tick over for 30-60 secs before you turn off.

the best thing about them was confusing all the busy bodies who would run over to tell me to turn off my car in petrol stations just as it turned itself off

IIRC any car fitted with a turbo timer does not meet the Thatcham CAT1 criteria as the specification states that the engine must not have the ability to run whilst the car is locked and alarmed.

I'm not sure if that's exactly why, but it's something along those lines.
