That picture of the 3R on fire was scary.(see thread Great picture of a noble)
I have a 3R on order and I am now feeling a bit nervous.

Could we have a comment from the Noble factory to clarify matters, and how the fire was caused.

I'll try to track the owner down.

There was a comment on another post that this has happend before but no further detials.

I personally wouldn't worry. If I saw a picture of my car on fire before making a purchase it wouldn't deter me. I'm sure if this was a comon fault it would be highly publicised. However, armed with the info, I would try to seek an explanation.

I tried to send the picture to Noble direct, but their website directs you to this Bulliten Board - Hence how I found it.

I'd be interested to know the cause too, I do admire the Noble, one of the last British cars, so wouldn't wish it, the business or it's owners any harm.

As more and more house have smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors does that deter you from byeing a house ?. NO. you take precautions.Any car is subject to mechanical failure, new or old, i take a first aid kit in my Noble in case some one cuts there finger and a fire extiguiser in case some one catches fire. It does not always happen to you. Nobles are as safe as houses.

I doubt that there's a model of car out there that hasn't caught fire. Whilst it would be interesting to know the cause of this particular fire I don't think we need start any sort of panic here.

Can I just say that so many cars from so many manafacturers have gone up in flames for so many reasons. I remember being stuck on the M40 late last year because a 996 had gone up. Theres various reasons that can cause it, everything from a loose oil filter, to careless fuel spalsh when filling up to not disposing of a lit cigarette correctly, all of which can effect any car.

Matt

P.S. Have a look at general gassing from a couple of days ago, theres some shots of a Lambo MurkyLager thats gone up.
