Fanny done good!

That should have been "Simon and Fanny done good"!
Just in case anyone was not sure whether it would be worth a trip to Donnington tomorrow; I just heard from Martin (V6 GTO), our man in a Donnington field (literally!!!), that the Noble racer came fourth in class today after an early power steering failure.
Not bad for its first outing!

To be entirely truthful I reckon it looks "pants"!
Im sure Mole Valley could have come up with a colour scheme that was more flattering for the M12
Even the DE WALT mustard and Black scheme would have looked better. The Noble is a very pretty car but white does not suit it. All the other cars on the grid looked purposeful.. the Noble looked like a kit car. Even the sponsor's decals looked like an afterthought.
Comments??

Come on! It would look pants if it weren't for that tape under the near-side headlight. This somehow raises the overall quality of the finish and makes it look all-together more 'McDonalds midnight street-racer'.
On a serious note, I think red would be a better base colour. I know that white is easier for sponsors to work with (ala GrpN rally style), but 'cheap' is the overall impression I get.
I do like the use of the second colour though.

Sorry guys - I actually like it.
Why?
Beacause you can spot it a mile off. It was dead easy for me to spot the car going around, ensuring I didn't loose it and made it dead easy to get the camcorder onto it.
I also like it as it's different than the normal red's, yellow and oranges.
Oh, also I was told the real reason by a bloke in a cap smoking a pipe was that white gaffer tape is cheaper than red or yellow....

Nope - that's the Exige - the Noble is the one at the back of that pack.
It was nice to see the Exige and Noble making up *serious* amounts of ground on the N-GT cars through the bends - it's a shame that Donington seems to favour the cars that carry a lot of weight and hence have high BHPs as they just blast away from the nimble cars along the long straights.
The next few races though will be interesting as the tracks get shorter and twister.

Nick, sorry you feel it is "pants", but we have to do a scheme that keeps the sponsors happy. Of course if anyone wants to come up with the money that Very Plast (Blue and White) are kindly giving, I am sure that Martin would paint it red, pink, or any other colour !

Fanny Duchateau’s encouraging run in the Rollcentre Noble (cheered on by the owners of most of the road-going Nobles in the country, if the car parks were anything to go by) was interrupted in dramatic fashion when the car was assaulted by the Jones Twins’ JWR Porsche; “I was on my line and the Porsche didn’t go the right way to pass me; he just went into my left rear.
It punctured the tyre and moved the undertray. It was very bad driving by the Porsche,” explained the aggrieved Belgian lady. The car made it back for repairs, but lost a lot of time; the Porsche was out on the spot.
“That Noble must be made of concrete,” said David Jones, a comment that will no doubt amuse Martin Short. His brother Godfrey might well have paused for a fraction and passed the Noble into McLeans, three seconds later. It was a very hard hit, as shown by the damage to the 911: BV-R saw the Noble “launched two feet into the air, and at 45 degrees to the track.”
