Hi All,
My M12 GTO has bee stood for about 6 months and just gone to start it and the fuel pump is not firing up and there is no current going too it. Is there a solenoid or pressure sensor for the fuel pump that could be faulty and where are they.

Thanks

Jonny

The fuel pump is turned on by the ECU, however before this gets too complicated, Pull out the relays near the ecu and soak the bases in switch clean or WD40, then put them back in. if this doesnt work start checking the engine bay fuses one by one.

Thanks for the reply.
All fuses are ok and all have 12v supply OK, cleaned all the relays as you suggested and the also cleaned every connector i can get to but still not working. The relay 2nd in from the wing is clicking in then out every couple of seconds, does anyone know what that relay is for???

Cheers

The fuel pump primes for 3 seconds when you switch the ignition on so you can only check that the fuel pump is getting power for those three seconds. The relay clicking on then off suggests that the ECU output is working.

If you have upgraded pump wiring you might want to check the battery to pump fuse, you may also want put 12v on the pump to check it works

Sorry to dig up an old thread, how did you free your pump? I think mine is suffering a seizure.

Have just found this thread and need help as my mechanical knowledge is thin on the ground!Fired the car up this morning and it died within seconds, tried again and left on tick over. After approx 30 seconds the engine missed a beat but didn't stall, drove out from garage ,turned off, started again 10mins later and then left for 4 hours. Now the fuel pump priming noise is not happening, hence car not starting.

HELP! Ps I've had it for exactly 1 year today!
