As well as Le Mans, we are planning to go to Magny Cours for the F1 race this July. Has anyone been to the circuit before and could recommend a good stand, or if anyone has any tips; all would be gratefully accepted.

Thanks

Sam

Depends on your budget. Best regular stands are Tribune C or L IMHO.

Last year I used the new 'Prestige' stand which was open for the first time and which has an element of hospitality (eg a ticket for packed lunch!) and good views. Great fun when both Renaults broke down just a couple of 100 metres to the left, in front of the stand full of their supporters!

Thanks guys,

I reckon the Renaults are in with a better chance this year!

I have discovered that my girlfriends father (for who we are all going, hmm) likes to see the race start. So we are going to be in Tibune F at the end of the pit straight, with views around the first sequence of corners. Should be good.

Anyone else here going. I am determined to take "Norman Noble", as the 3R has been dubbed by my family.

All the best

I'm going, but will just fly straight in and out to Nevers airport on the day.

If its like last year, you will need your earplugs not just for the F1 session but for the Mirage flypast!

Hope Norman has a great time.

Hi James,

Its not kept in London at the moment at least. I am out of the country currently so it has mainly been stored in East Anglia recently anyway.

I'm back this week though, and ready to drive the thing. Only problem is; what is the weather like in the mother country????

Not sure about where we are actually staying... its all just a plan at the moment. I suppose I can't really sleep in the car.

Fortunately we are staying in France for the month which covers both L.M. and the F1 so we dont have too far to come(ish -its near Bergerac).
What do you recommend for Le Mans, is the camping OK? I've only been to the town once, it was a nightmare finding a place to stay, and that's when the race wasn't on!!! (but it was fun to drive (part) of the circuit, which I suppose will be out of the question this time!).

All the best

Sam
