Last night I was filling up my Elise (mini-noble!) at a Shell petrol station.

I noticed one of their promotion about Optimax fuel thingy - the blurb goes 'Win a £100,000 supercar!'

The picture of a supercar in question is Noble M12 GTO-3R with the front logo removed.

Are they trying to con the public or I havent read the small print ;-)

Or the prices have really gone up???

£100,000 is what it's worth, not what it costs!

yeah it was quite funny really, I was with my mate in his exige filling up. I saw my bank manager (a good mate) the other side of the forecourt filling up his Mondeo. I walked over to talk to him and we both clocked the Optimax leaflet on the pump simultaneously. Isnt that like your car he asked. I just nodded and smiled!

Guess my bank charges will be rising soon !

The Noble was merely used by Shell to promote its Top Trumps promotion where you can win a supercar of your choice up to £100k (I think it has to be in the promotion, though). Any car they use to advertise the promotion has to be de-badged, but they were keen on the Noble because of its dramatic looks. You'll find this promotion at all Optimax Shell stations nationwide.

Fantastic bit of PR and Marketing for the Noble brand, well done Simon.

So the smart thing to do would be to buy a Porsche 911 near 100k, sell it and buy 2 other cars (one a noble perhaps!).

well, actually it all depend on the persons point of veiw. I like cars because of handling, performance, then looks so i'd say it's worth anywhere from the re-sale price to $1,000,000. Lol a $1,000,000 Noble! That would be a sweet car to see muchless drive.

Why oh why do people on here not appreciate the power of marketing - "it's what pays your wages!"

Of course it's *worth* 100k

Define *worth*

person of great worth.

adj.

Equal in value to something specified: worth its

Having wealth or riches amounting to: a person worth

or what something is worth to you such as Bob may think a Dodge Viper is a better car than the Noble M12 GTO 3R and so he would obviously coose the Viper over the Noble but he would be willing to spend more for the Viper than The Noble so in his opinion the Viper si worth more than the Noble but you may think the opposite.
