Just curious where he came from and how he went about creating his company. Are there any sites?? Word of mouth would be fine also.

This subject would make a great book, but I think we should wait as only a few chapters canbe written yet. As we all know...the best is yet to come!

Can't give a definitive history, but Lee has been designing sports cars for a long time now.

These are the ones I can think of off the top of my head:

Midtec Spyder - one of the first mid-engined kit car alternatives to Lotus 7 type car from mid 80s. Normally with Ford Pinto power, it looked odd but apparently went well.

The Ultima. Although now very much Ted Marlow's baby, it was originally made by Lee in the mid/late 80s when it pretty much dominated kit car racing.

ProSport 3000. Sports racing car that was essentially a modified Ultima with Ford Granada Cosworth V6. Think it was originally for one make series.

Kitdeal P4. Replica of the gorgeous Ferrari P4 sports racing prototype, designed by Lee late 80s and now produced by NF Auto Developments.

Ascari Ecosse. Production supercar project from mid/late 90s subsequently bought up by current Ascari boss Klas Zwartz.

Noble M10. Forerunner and basis of the M12, and originally marketed as a kit car (but don't let Lee Noble hear you say that!). A mid-engined convertible with standard Duratec V6, it impressed Tony Moy enough to provide funding to set up Noble Moy and go into the production sports car business in 1999.

Also remember him producing a replica of an old Lotus (Lotus 11 I think) which did very well in kit car racing in the mid 80s.

I think McLaren used one of his chassis's for the F1 mule, don't think Lee had any direct involvement.

The Spectre R42 was originally the work of GT Developments of GT40 replica fame.

Regarding McClaren, they used a couple of Ultima chassis as early test mules.

As far as I know Lee wasn't actually involved with either.
