As you are aware we promised that we would announce the prices and booking forms for Rockingham back end of last week. Apologies for the delay in this, but we have been negotiating the prices and unfortunately have not been able to get them down to what we as a factory consider to be reasonable. I have therefore had to make the difficult decision to cancel as there was an increase of 40% on last year.

However i have been looking into alternative venues for us, and have got the following options for you all.

Bruntingthorpe on Saturday 27th
Oulton Park Saturday 3rd April

The prices for these events will be very reasonable around £160.

I am very sorry that Rockingham was not possible but i felt that you guys required Value for money. Please can you give me some feedback on which event you would prefer and i will book it and send out forms for you all

apologies again

Stuart

Hi Stuart,

I would prefer Bruntingthorpe on Saturday the 27th as I cannot make it on the other date.

Stuart'

Would prefer Oulton park on the 3rd April if it fits in with the GT championship race on the Sunday at Donnington, but would attend Bruntingthorpe assuming that is 27th March ?

Would prefer Oulton as well as we are both going to the GT race on the 4 April and already staying over!

Oulton suits me fine for same reason as APS. Plus I couldnt make it on the first date anyway.

Stuart,

I was looking forward to March 28th, but I think you are right to refuse the 40% increase on last year.

Either is fine, although I'd prefer Oulton as I've never driven there! However, with Donington on the Sunday it could be tricky squeezing both days in. I'll wait until a bit closer to the date before deciding.

I also take it, Rollcentre won't be showcasing the M12 for us! Other things on their mind probably!

Oulton seems to be the most popular, numbers are important though so please watch this space. If we can get the numbers required it will be a superb weekend

Would still prefer Rockingham, but Oulton is best. Now I get to go to Silverstone on 28 March (British Super Bikes).

Now Jonathan Palmer owns Brands, maybe he could come up with a good price for there? (being selfish - its local!)

Yeah, I see on motorsportvision.co.uk they have now got Brands Hatch, Cadwell Park, Oulton Park and Snetterton.

Another M12 local to Brands? We would prefer Brands too being local to Maidstone!

Have you seen our yellow peril around Kent?

I'm local to Maidstone, but Brands is close enough. Haven't seen the yellow peril but a friend reported a rocket-propelled banana on M20 a few weeks ago!

I know its not quite the same but Autocar will once again be running 2 Noble track days at Bedford as part of our track day season. We're kicking the season off on the 16th April with a Noble day. Pricing and booking will be announced shortly at www.autocarmag.com

Stuart,

A suggestion for this year, make sure the punters know where they stand with regards to passengers. I was fairly annoyed last year when in the 1st track day my wife who was a paid spectator could passenger with me but in the second it cost us an extra £75, just to passenger. We were not told until the day and the Bedford staff were extremely unhelpful to boot! For the track time you get the Autocar days are expensive, but I must admit, you do a very good job of running them and circuit is never too busy, so I'll probably do a few again this year! But if you or Mr Palmer think that £75 is value for money you are going to price yourself out of the market!

Just my 2p.

Thanks for that. I'm inclined to agree with you that the extra costs for our track days (passengers, spectators etc) are on the steep side, but unfortunately they are out of our control. We'll try to make sure that the costs are transparent at the time of booking though.

What was very strange about the whole passenger thing was that at the briefing the "official" Palmer Sport staff said that you couldn't take any passengers at at all (except other drivers), and then over at the pits all the other Palmer Sport staff said anyone could go out in the cars as long as they had a helmet!

Work that one out if you can!
