Just a thought. How many of you guys & girls are heading down to Le Mans this year. For starters count me in. Assuming my end March delivery date is reasonably accurate.

Just agreed it with the Mrs.

Have been to Le Mans quite a few times, but always either stayed in local Hotels/Chateau and/or someone else has organised it.

This year we thought it would be good to do the camping thing.

Anyone point me in the right direction for:
- Where to buy tickets for camping
- Which campsite most Nobles/PHers will be in
- Will probably go down Thursday PM, come back Monday AM. Anyone fancy a Noble convoy?

Hard to get tickets for camp sites only now, most are now part of a package with ferry companies, suggest you try them or the web .

Danny, I might well have some spares for Houx campsite this year. Been going for several years now, and booked a block of pitches, but at the moment several people have dropped out. Will let you know in a week or two when we get final numbers.

I'll pm who I go through as too many people finding out might mean I can't book easily in future

Its quite pricey as it doesn't include Euro* etc unlike most other deals. Dunno what availability will be like this late either.

In fact anyone know a way to get tickets for the underwater train at reasonable cost? I tried it online and nearly collapsed with laughing at the money they wanted...

Register yourself as a .FR customer when the inital page asks (delete any cookies to force it to ask you) and you'll find it's magically cheaper.....

Joust - that works even if you are going from UK -> France -> UK? Will definitely try it.

Martin - I sent you details of the people I'm going with for the chateau accomadation. They do some camping too if thats what you want. Probably worth a ring or email as the guy does respond pretty quick. Camping inside the track last year was interesting but reminded me why I abhor camping Falling asleep with the cars going by several hundred metres away is an interesting experience (once)*.

quote]Used to, but you may now have to put a French delivery address for the tickets as they may have tightened things up since it was revealed on BBC Wtachdog that you could do that.

Check that two singles isn't cheaper (one bought from the UK->FR and one bought pretending to be a FR person going FR->UK) as that's how I managed to get £100+ of it last time.

Finally if you are prepared to put up with the boat you can get two day trips and only use the outward bound half - but for that you def. do need a FR address to get the tickets posted to.
