Does anybody know where it is or what it looks like?? My local car stereo retailer is refusing to fit my Pioneer unit until i can tell him!

Thanks

IIRC On the 3's theres a hall effect speed sensor on the drivers side front. That should do the job nicely.

All cars fitted with 6 speed gearbox have the speed sensor fitted on the drivers side front wheel hub, cars with 5 speed box l think are actually on the gearbox.

I had a Blaupunkt unit fitted to my M12 2.5L. The speed sensor pulse is picked up from behind the Speedo. It is the Red wire. If you are having difficulty getting it fitted and are down South I can refer you to the chaps who fitted mine in Reading.

Lynton - did you have it fitted by John Kleis? Alex rang me and asked where my speed sensor was picked up from when they had another one in to do - I refered him to Tony Kane at the factory as I never bothered with fitting it on mine.

Are you in Reading?

Hi Nathan,

Yes, I had it fitted at JK's - very helpful and careful and not too expensive. I have a Blaupunkt system (SatNav + CD Auto changer + remote) & a Blue tooth car kit. I used the same SatNav on my Boxster without pulse or connection to the reverse light and it worked perfectly. The only difference I can detect is the unit can estimate where I am when going through tunnels.
Shame it does not have a plot of Rockingham and someone to shout 'faster, faster stay off the brakes until you can hear god calling'!

Are you local to the area? When the weather is better we'll have another south east meet.

Hi Nathan,

Sounds like a good idea... Have to fit it in with all the Bike and Car track days that I plan to do. Also like to go and support the team at the GT races.
