I know this has been done before, and I have searched the forum...

The question is whether I get the full Noble kit, or leave the sills (which is the recommendation from my dealer). Has anyone got chipped sills?

Cheers.

I think Paul has, but then he does like the gravel traps

Sills and rear don't seem to suffer at all.

As for the front the low down bits next to the grill get a good hammering, but all of my bad stone chips on the front top (next to the rad air exit) are all over the top of where the armorfend would have been anyway.

Me I didn't spend the money and "stuck it in the bank" for a respray in a year or so's time - as the clam comes off easily you can take the lights / grills out yourself and drop it off at your local paint shop - £300 all in is what I've been quoted...

Whatever you choose a stone will find somewhere where you haven't put some

Joust - absolutely right!

Got my first few chips yesterday, and they're HUGE! Still, it's impossible to say with any certainty how many more I might have collected without Armourfend.

Anyway - here's a question for you 'fended Nobles out there; What do you believe constitutes the "full Noble kit"? I ask because either Armourfend are missing a trick, or I've been duped.

Allegedly, I have the "full kit" minus sills, but I'm surprised that it doesn't include;

1) Inner wheel arches. This seems to be a fairly standard item on other cars, and I can't see a technical reason why not on the Noble.

2) The upright struts on either side of the number plate. The horizontal leading edge of the bonet is done, the horizontal section above the splitter is done, but the verticals are left exposed - and that's where I've collected the chips!

I'm waiting for a rep from Armourfend to call, but I would very much like to know whether anyone has the "full kit", and what it includes - many thanks.

Oh, and at over five hundred quid it's not cheap! Like Joust says, probably better to spend the loot on a respray every couple of years.

If you e-mail Armoufend, they will send you a PDF file with a line drawing of all the panels they produce for the Noble 3R.

I have the sills covered (and front panels). I find it helps reduce the scuffs when getting in and out of the car.

The choice of Armoufend or not, is very much a personal choice, and how, when and where you drive.

Cheers,
Ian.

Marlon,
The armoundfend components are on gto3.com -> www.gto3.com/components/bodywork.htm

I don't think I have the verticals armourfend but at the minute have not collected any chips there. One place I have noticed you pick up chips and where Amourfend doesn't provide a piece is just under the rear wing.

Thanks Anthony - that's very useful.

I don't suppose you have a price list on that fantastic site of yours, do you?

The strip of 'fend on the front needs extending right up to the duct, and another piece needs to go on between the duct and windscreen. Andrew G has got quite a few chips here from Bedford on Saturday.
