Has anyone considered or implemented a tinted finish to the side/rear window glass? Personally I think it might look OK, but are there insurance or other legal implications, and will I be able to see anything out of the side windows at night!

Don't shoot me - I'm in the frustrating few days between delivery at the dealer and hand-over, so naturally I'm spending my time thinking about the car and how I can bugger-up a perfectly good 3R with go-faster stripes and fluffy dice...

Here's a few pics...

Hopefully I'll be driving it around the country on Thursday and Friday, so if anyone fancies meeting up for a cup of tea and a bun, let me know!

Just thinking the same recently for privacy as Im imagining that alot of gawking goes along with the car. I was worried it would introduce a "Boy Racer" factor.

Looks like (no pun intended) it might be a no-no.

Just spoken to a bloke at Pentagon and 'front' tinted windows is very likely to become illegal from mid February this year, i.e. you might get stopped by the fuzz and told to remove it.

Just been looking at the Pentagon website under the Security & Surveillance section for their security film when I noticed this:-

Pentagon said:
If you are in the business of:

Covert surveillance, reconnaissance and intelligence gathering
Transporting high-value items
Protecting VIPs
Visually insulting people at traffic lights
Then Pentagon is for you.

I had mine done at a local place in Huntingdon, see
www.car2tint.com/gallery2.htm
for a before and after picture. Apart from reducing glare from the sun and keeping the interior of the car a bit cooler in summer, the film also prevents mr. scrote from being able to smash the glass. It also suits my bling lifestyle as well.

Interestingly it says that windows "forward of the B post" cannot be tinted under the new law - so the little one is probably OK...
