Just thought I'd let you all know this months Octane magazine have reviewed the 3R from the perspective of usability as any every day car. Quite a good read

The did say that you have a choice of steering wheels

Cheers

Hi Michael

I red the article aswell and it describes the 3r as quite a driveable every day car although it mentions the poor turning circle and wind noise on drivers side at 30 mph, which i dont really understand. There was another article saying that in the summer it gets really hot inside and that even the aircon struggles to work. I think this was in auto express...anybody has any views on this. As I am new to the 3r and i'm sure this has been mentioned was the lack of electric windows, any reason for this ..cheers

I believe that last summers' a/c and overheating problems were all solved so new cars incorporate all of the new technology/improvements to avoid these issues and all used cars should, by now, have been retro-fixed at service times - so you shouldn't find any such problems whichever route you take to a Noble!

I have also noticed the wind noise when the fan heater/blower is working but haven't found that it is really noticeable until about 50mph. It is an irritation but not a major problem. As for air-con, I think it works fine and if it doesn't then it can be sorted under warranty.

First off, we only offer one style of steering wheel with the 3R, which is what you would have seen in Octane. Not sure where they mentioned we offered a choice, but I'm afraid we don't.

Electric windows? The M12 was originally conceived as a simple, no frills supercar. The 3R added many refinements to the original, but electric windows would have meant a substantial re-design of the interior, which we did not deem essential. Either way, they add weight, complexity and expense to the car - just look at a new, top-end Elise for proof.

Wind noise? No point in denying that this is an issue with certain cars. My advice to anyone who gets this is to flip the a/c fan from inlet to recirc - in other words, use the fan settings on the left side of the dial, rather than the right. This will almost certainly cure it immediately.

Good point, but what if you actually don't want to recirculate the air?
