Hijacked from a thread on general gassing (www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=78513&f=23&h=0) this outfit seems to suggest they can get you a discount on a 3/3R...

www.autoebid.com/select.asp?Make=NOBLE&Model=M12&Search=2

Wonder what the reality is (although their PCP seems way way over the top - perhaps that's the sting in the tail....)?

Justin, don't they make their money on the finance - I'd bet you can't but one cash from them? Also, their list price is incorrect - should be £52,500!

Talking of finance, can anyone give me an idea of the current monthly payment for a new 3R under a PCP ?

Depends on deposit and term of course.

First thing is the APR - look for between 5.5 and 6.5 at the moment.
However probably the easiest thing is to ensure you get *lots* of quotes from different places and compare the deposit, term, GFV and work out a "total paid" (deposit + term*monthlypayments + GFV) to compare.

Email me if you want my figures.

Just to confirm that the only way to buy a new Noble is through one of our Dealers. They will also offer you finance options through capital bank or similar organisation. This organisation have never approached the Factory and would get a polite response of NO if they did

Thanks and careful motoring to you during the bad weather

Mine was with First National via Mole Valley - First National also do the X5 - that was via the dealer as well.

Mole Valley did such an excellent job of "beating up" the finance company the normal external culprits (LEX, Natwest Personal Banking, Direct Line Finance, Capital etc.) didn't even get a look in as they ended up much more expensive (perhaps MoleV and First National have some good deal?)

Ash - who's is yours through? Starting at the Dealer is always a good bet, but check out some of the others as things may have changed.

Joust - I followed your advice and went to MV.
If anyone else has found a good deal please post it here (or email me) - Thanks !

Guess I better re-read the cash vs. PCP thread again (in case I have the cash one day...!)

I've read that thread a number of times, I know almost understand it

I got a quote the other day from MV which didn't seem too bad for a 3R:

Cost £56000
Deposit £15000
Residual £26000
36 months £750 Per Month

With £19500 Deposit £600 Per Month

With £22500 Deposit £500 Per Month

Cheers

Simple Annual %'s on that are

Cost Deposit GFV Mnth x36 Total Simple %
56000 15000 26000 750 27000 68000 7.1%
56000 19500 26000 600 21600 67100 6.6%
56000 22500 26000 500 18000 66500 6.3%

Not bad - but there is probably better (and the per months seem supiciously "round" )

Be aware kids that with a PCP if you weigh out a big dipper and at the end of your finance period are in trouble and can't find the balance or you need to sell the car and it's only worth its GMFV then you have effectively lost your deposit and walk away with nowt.

£22.5k plus £18k payments over 36 is effectively £1125 per month to 'rent' a car and walk away.

Your only saving grace is if the car is worth more than the GMFV, and this equity becomes your dipper on the next car.

Don't bank on that equity. If there's economic problems or a model change a 3 year old car could very well be worth less than the GMFV. I've seen it happen. The nice thing is, if the car is worth peanuts you walk away and don't pay the negative equity.

Pays your money, takes your choice.

p.s. yes I want a 3R like mad but I can't justify it I'm afraid.
