Hi all.

Myself, Andrew and a few others are going to the SELOC sprint on Feb 15th. It's a timed event that runs on an airfield so there is only cones to hit should you "overcook" things

It seems like good fun, and it's quite easy to get the things you need (MSA license - but it's just a form, tick some boxes, fill in CC details and voila - no medical etc. needed), a suitable overall and helmet and that's it.

So if you fancy it why not have a look over at SELOC at http://forums.seloc.org/showevent.php?eid=178 (I think you'll need to register first on the main page) and come along.

Be quick though - it takes about 1-2 weeks for the license to come through (although there is a 3 day "rush job" option).

Finally - we have our own "Supercar" class - so it'll be just us against the odd 360 - but I'm sure we'll all be comparing times across all groups

[P.S. all - I checked with Ted first about posting this "advertising"]

Have a lovely time - I'll think of you when I'm freezing my nuts off on an airfield in Essex

Have you got yours yet?

Just heard that it arrives at the dealer on Friday next week, so I should be driving away in it on Tuesday 3rd...

... just enough time to get 1,000 miles in so that it can be serviced while I'm away (well, that's the plan anyway!)

Expect to see me at a Noble gathering near you soon!

As it's a sprint it's a timed event, so your insurers won't cover you personally for any damage to your car (although there really isn't anything to hit!)

Competition Car Insurance will probably do some for you - but it'll be expensive.

With regards to public liability - as it's an official SELOC event it's covered under their MSA PL insurance.

Full details are on SELOC and you can find the various threads on it that explain anything. If you still have questions get hold of one of the committee members (again you'll find their details on the site) and they'll tell you everything.

Justin, which type of MSA licence is required for these type of events? Just downloaded the form (www.msauk.org/pdfs/2004_Licences/2004_App_Licence%204pp.pdf) but there are various licences available from 'International A' for £670 down to 'Race National B' for £42.

You only need the Speed - None Race National B license. £31. The others require a medical.

BTW - Proban suits can be had for £45.

Justin, could I just turn up as a spectator and get into area with the Nobles - R77 (AKA: V60 GTO) won't be run in by then?

Nice one Danny. Go and click on the SELOC link and add yourself to the list to ensure you have a place in the event.

Rob, all are welcome. There's a whole load of people from the Owners Club coming to lend support so the more people that turn up the better.

With Danny we've now 5 Noble drivers in our class so there'll be plenty of action. It'll be interesting to see the difference between the cars as we'll have 2.5, 3, 3R and we're all running slightly different setups as some are stock and others modified.

There's going to be allot of pressure on the 360 to put in a good time!

Andrew.

Rob - there's been a last minute communication. All guests must present this pass if they wish to view the event as NO spectators are allowed on the day.

If anyone else wishes to attend the event as a guest please ensure you have a copy of this pass or you'll be turned away.

BTW - here's some additional info I've posted onto the Owners club here:
www.nobleownersclub.net/pipermail/noble-discuss/2004-February/004312.html

It'd be good if some of you guys could make it.

Andrew.

1st Practice 9.35am immediately followed by the 2nd Practice

Timed runs will commence immediately after the 2nd Practice run.

Full details are on the link above.

I believe we'll do as many runs as possible. There's ~40 cars running that day and with the exception of a few 'ringers' us amateurs will be spinning cars to keep people amused!

Wrap up well as it's an airfield and quite exposed.

Andrew.
