yeah, wise to order without wing... from a purely asthetic point of view.

Wouldn't ordering without a wing have a rather dramatic effect on rear end grip?

Indeed Stuart - Someone took theirs off at brunters and said the car was far more nervous round the corner onto the straight but got about 10mph more. I'd take the grip thanks!

These are a couple from my site at Octobers VMAX.

Personally Rob, I wouldn't recommend you take any high speed bends without the wing on. Danny said that he noticed the lack lateral grip as soon as he went round the bend.

As I have already warned AMG, over 100mph, straight line stability and cornering prowess are affected - though not by a huge degree. When we test at Bruntingthorpe, it means the difference between the car sliding, or not, through some of the faster bends. But sub-100mph on the road, there's little difference.

As far as top end goes, the car will not exceed 170mph with or without the wing.

I think that the wing also tones down the look of the rear bodywork - it looks bloody enormous without it.

A wide range of highly relevant comments as always! Me, I prefer the look without the wing and feel that sans wing is the best way to get used to the car on track. Once I become more accustomed I'll then fit the wing and will have the confidence to go even faster through the bends!

AMG,

Not wishing to be rude, but...

Are you on medication?

I've heard more plausible logic from a pot plant...

Fair-dinkum!

Have you got the (wingless) beast yet?

In dealers so inspecting it tomorrow and looking like next week for delivery - at least it can't fly away without a wing - see I knew there was some logic there!!!
