I know there have been many insurance threads but, as this is a moving target the past is not to be relied upon, and its time for me to revisit my previous quotees and see what they're saying now.

Does anyone have any new/recent comments to add or perhaps names of any new brokers that maybe we haven't heard of?

My 2.5L is through MSM insurance which costs £1050 fully comp (with full no claims) with a max annual mileage of 7500.

I used Privilege Insurance (0845 246 8551) for my 3R.

They charged 770 with a 1000 excess, fully comp, no limits on mileage, no claims discount protection and a full 65% no claim discount.

This was back in October.

I'm with Natwest, £840 Max NCD protected with 10k annual mileage limit. They give you a 10% discount if you have an Advantage Gold account (which i do) and another 10% if you have home insurance (buildings, contents or both) which i didnt at the time.

Will collect my M12 GTO-3 next week - Admiral refused to cover (had Fiat Coupe Turbo 20v with them) so went to Tesco Insurance. On-line only the 2.5l is there, but they agreed 3.0l with track day sump/6 speed box/LSD for same price of £754 - excess £550, full NCB protected in "CR" postcode.
Hope this helps - G6YOG

CR postcode? Somewhere in the Croydon area then.

Hope to see you around once you take delivery.
What colour have you ordered so I know if it's you?

I have just renewed my insurance with directline. £950 with £250 excess. This year they dropped the stipulation for a tracker so you can take another £150 off the premium for comparison purposes.

Just done the rounds and Privilege came out cheapest.

Notes: MSM will only insure upto 50k, and Tesco charge more for the "3" than the 2.5 that they list on the web site... so beware!

Marlon, beware - they do not mirror NCBs (or offer an equivalent discount) so are useless for cover on a second car!

Thanks -

I'm no expert on these matters, so excuse my ignorance, but what exactly does that mean?

I have 3 yrs NCB on my TVR policy - are you saying that I would need to "transfer" that NCB to the Noble and reinsure my TVR with no NCB?

Marlon, yep, you've got it - or you could keep the 3 years NCB on your Tivver and pay full wack on the Noble!

To insure a second car you need to ask the insurer whether they can "mirror" or match your current No Claims Discount on car number one - if they can't then hang up as the quote will be huge! Don't worry though as many brokers offer an equivalent discount to your NCB for the second car.

But that would make it many many kerzillions of pounds

To cheer me up, here's a smutty joke for the day...

"Did you hear about the boy who got his willy caught in the bell rope?"

"He got tolled-off!"

"Boom-boom!"

Yes it would so you might like to keep the 3 years NCB on your Tivver and get it mathed on your new Noble policy!
