Power Steering
Discussion
Hi all.
R87 arrived wednesday just gone... been driving pretty much constantly since then.
As an excuse for the lack of 'arrival post'. (pics to follow)
BLOODY MARVELLOUS
Only one thing... the steering has taken to making a moaning sound, which comes from behind the driver, when the wheel is turned (not when held at any position). The Power steering fluid levels are fine. Could there be something wrong with the p/s pump, as the noise seems to be related to engine speed. (ie idle = its a racket, 3000rpm = hardly noiceable).
Is there an easy fix for this? Is it a dealer or a factory job?
Any help much appreciated.

Sam, maybe this is due to dryness or dirt on the power steering belt - I think a quick squirt of silcon grease spray will help (don't worry - it won't make the belt slip).
Thanks AMG.
I dont think its that. It looks like there is a problem with a seal in the power steering system, since it appears there is air in the pipes, it has bubbles in it and the fluid is bubbling over. Its a bit of a mess really, the steering has become a real effort.
Is this a 'back to the factory' problem?
Thanks
