British GT Championship Calendar
Discussion
Just noticed the calendar for the 2004 GT races in which Rollcentre are entering a Noble into the "Cup" class. It would have been nice to see a Noble competing in the N-GT Class against the TVR's etc but I guess Rollcentre already have their Moslers for that.
Anyway, it'll be good to see how the Noble gets on (making short work of Elises and VX's ) and hopefully get to see some of the action from trackside.
The 2004 season will be made up of sixteen rounds at eight events:
April 3/4 Donington 1 & 2
May 8/9 Mondello Park, Ireland 3 & 4
June 5/6 Snetterton 5 & 6
June 19/20 Castle Combe 7 & 8
July 17/18 Oulton Park 9 & 10
August 13/14/15 Silverstone* 11 & 12
August 29/30 (bank holiday) Thruxton 13 & 14
October 1/2/3 Brands Hatch 15 & 16
* Supporting the Le Mans Endurance Series 1000km
There will be three classes in 2004. GT for monster cars like the Lister, Saleen and Porsche GT2 etc, all producing 600bhp, N-GT for less powerful (400bhp) TVRs, Moslers, Ferraris etc, and the GT Cup for smaller cars such as the VX220's, Elises.
Each meeting will consist of two 45 minute free practices, two 20 minute qualifying periods and two sixty minute races (one on each day). Up to 35 cars will be accepted for the forthcoming season.

Interestingly, Martin Short says that he'll have to do little to the Noble to make it raceworthy. Because of power to weight rules, he'll probably keep the engine near-stock, but it will have a different cage fitted, larger fuel tank and it will run on slicks. Martin reckons that it should give the Porsches a run for their money - especially on tighter circuits - because it understeers less and is generally more nimble.
Can't wait to see the first race at Donington!

I feel a marketing opportunity for 'Shorty' T - Shirts, Baseball caps, shirts, etc. etc. Limited production. 10 years time they will be a classic collectors item.
What do you think?
PS. Can I (on behalf of all Noble owners old and new) wish Lee and the entire Noble Team a Very Merry Christmas and a very prosperous (and profitable) New Year.
Cheers,
Ian.
