Can anyone give me a brief rundown on the differences between the GTO and the 3R?

Also, is anyone (Simon?) prepared to speculate on what will be different with the 400 compared to the 3R?

Probably not too dissimilar to the 3T described here.

Edited to add: see also this thread where it was discussed recently.

Thanks!

That clears up the 3T (as much as is possible at this stage)

But what's the difference between the GT0-3 and the 3R?

'scuse my ignorance and laziness at not trawling through the old gassing threads but PH is running v.slow today on my PC!

I'm sure one of the Noble boys will be along with the definitive answer, but as far as I'm aware, the 3R adds:
- revised headlights.
- different wheels.
- more leather inside.
- about 20Kg.
- several thousand £.

Perhaps the six speed gearbox and LSD are standard on the 3R as well: not sure.

As with things TVR, the M12 is something of a moveable feast with enhancements being added constantly.

Yes, the 6-speed box and LSD are now standard on the 3R and is leather trimmed interior (was alcantara). It also boasts improved sound-proofing over previous models (this relates to the weight increase).

If you want my views of the M400 see www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=23&h=&t=63632

One special car....

As for price - no idea

The new brochure (available at your local dealer) gives the complete lowdown on the 3 and 3R.

The 3R has the following as standard, which the 3 does not:

6-speed gearbox
Automatic torque-biasing differential
Full leather interior (instead of Alcantara)
Extra soundproofing
Faired-in, bi-xenon headlights
New design of alloy wheel
Starter button
CD/tuner
Leather pads on dashtop and steering wheel boss
Map pockets

We charge an extra £4550 for the 3R over the 3.

As for the M400/3T, we do plan to launch it before the NEC motor show in May. The car is still in development, so I cannot yet comment on exact specs. But it will have in excess of 400bhp, revised spring and damper setings, grippier tyres, less weight and while the M12 profile will remain, there will be no mistaking it for either the 3 or the 3R. Basically, it will be a blindingly fast car, but there will be little or no concession to road comfort (though it will be road legal). We aim to make the M400/3T a Track Day Tour de Force!

Thanks Simon,

No concessions to road comfort are fairly familiar to me

I'm looking forward to getting over to Mole Valley to find out more.

Cheers
