Got my first quote here in Ireland for my insurance on my Noble at 2.30pm today and Ive finally just got off the floor to type this.

Euro18550 or in your money "" £13500 ""per year. . . I kid you not.

Im going to try work on other angles here but need to investigate the UK insurances so if anyone can help with.

1. Whats the average cost over there for a 38 year old fully comp.

2. Can I drive my car hear on UK insurances if I have the car registered in the UK in my name.

3. What insurance companies insure Nobles

4. Donations gratefully accepted.

This is not a joke.

Thanks.

WTF! I thought my renewal at £1,500 from Tesco was expensive but that figure is a bad joke (FYI £1,500 is with 60% no claims (unprotected) but with the missus also on the policy (with 9 points )

I presume what you're being quoted reflects the fact you'll have the only Noble in Ireland (AFAIK). I can't say for certain whether or not an insurer in the UK that doesn't have an operation in Ireland would quote you but I wouldn't have thought so. It may be a good idea to email ibroker who is a fellow Noble owner and (as his PH name suggests) is an insurance broker. I don't think he does motor policies but may have some useful contacts in Dublin. Sorry to not be of more help, I hope you manage to get it sorted!

Alan,

This is tricky one. Apparently, if you're planning to insure it in Southern Ireland, most UK-based insurers will not touch it (or charge a very high premium if they do) because of the different road rules and regs. However, you might the following UK companies who may have branches in SI:

Carol Nash in Altringcham
Direct Line
Tesco
HSBC Ireland

If you're still struggling, please ring me and I'll see what else I can do.

Cheam also allow track days at a cost of £35 per day
