Stunning it was too - I am really kicking myself for not getting a ride at BTaP.

Anyway - for what it's worth - I reckon this to be the best looking Noble I've seen to date - in that Crystal Topaz it's just pant wettingly gorgeous!

Ian you are one lucky man!

I had the pleasure of driving that red demonstrator at Bruntingthope the day Top Gear had it for their photo shoot

I pi.sed myself laughing when James hit the horn button. That is the ONLY thing I can find fault with the car (Sorry Lee). I had to change it for a more 'Sporty' tone.

But what does James know about "The engine being in the wrong place" ? Better he sticks with Rover etc.

Phil, Glad you like the Crystal Topaz colour. You might see it around town sometimes. If not, at Rockingham in March for the owners track day.

Cheers,
Ian.

So 3rtt - Are you the culprit for no more special paint jobs

I only requested the special paint job (and paid extra for it). Looks like the job blew a fuse somewhere!!

I believe you can still order the car in primer, for finishing in the UK.

Cheers,
Ian.

So i hear. I was hoping to have some spangly paint job on my GTC (hint hint factory) if/when it arrives. My current GTO is boggo azure blue but i always think convertibles look better in lighter colours.......

I guess only problem arrives when you try to patch up the paint for stone chips ?

Stuh, I managed to get my local paint shop to mix a small bottle of touch up paint. Tried it on stone chips on the inside of the wheel arches, and it matches fine.

For the front of the car I had Armourfend fitted to the 'Critical' areas. ie: splitter. lower leading edge, upper leading edge, sills and front of rear wheel arch. I'm very happy with the job, and so far it's saving the paint very well.

Cheers,
Ian.

Having been at MPH03 yesterday, it was great to see the 3R again on Top Gear. I reckon Clarkson must be the best salesman for Noble (sorry Stuart, you know what i mean !) - he just loves the car so much...guess I'm preaching to the converted here, anyway !!!

You can; mine is in a 2002 Honda NSX colour - Long Beach Blue Pearlescent, which was painted by Sturgess before delivery. It did cause some issues (like the factory was expecting the headlight pods to have been mounted after painting by the dealer) but I would guess that they'll be more aware of this nowadays.

It's far more pant-wettingly gorgeous than any other colour (IMO, obviously! )

Really ought to take some piccies of it when I'm back from snowboarding; sad billy that I am, I'm writing this courtesy of Whistler's blanket 802.11 coverage of the entire town. I don't think driving GT03 BLU would be a good idea around here though, I keep on almost falling over crossing the road it's so slippy...

HF,
How's the snow in Whistler?
I'm heading out there in a couple of weeks, two planks instead of one for me though.!

Changed the horn on mine - first priority!!

Got a low note, and high note (seperate units) from a local spares shop, bolted them on, wired them up, and they work a treat. Bit of a tight squeeze when on full lock (leaves about 10mm gap), but have not had a problem with them.

Cheers, Mark

I bought some Fiamm dual tone air horns.

I didn't want to start drilling holes, so I fitted the compressor where the original electric horn (handbag) was located. The 2 air horns were bolted using original fixings to the inner wing, pointing the horns down.

There was enough original cable to connect straight to the compressor (horn circuit has a relay), then cut the plastic tube to length and connected from compressor to horns.

A liberal greasing of electrical terminals and the jobs a good'n.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,
Ian.

I fitted a pair of Fiamm horns (only about £20 for Halfords). Decided to mount them to the bulkhead between the radiator and the rest of the gubbins in the front in order to keep them out of the weather. Works a treat and sounds so much better than the puny electric job fitted as standard.

Pretty damn good! Yesterday I was up to my knees in fluffy powder off the Crystal Chair (Blackcomb) but it was closed today (avalanche risk, I think) so had to play lower down.

Have you been checking www.whistlerblackcomb.com? Has weather reports, webcams, that sort of thing.

It's never too late to ditch the twin-plank activity and join god's own cult of snowboarding, y'know... here, can I sell you my old board? I appear to have just bought myself a new Burton Custom 158 :]

Edmundo, (completely off-thread) I've just booked Banff for 10 days at the Rimrock for the end of Feb. My first trip to Canada, so any tips, good/bad things to do etc would be much appreciated (nb. 3 months - you lucky bugger!). Cheers, Martin.
