According to my Origin B2 my speedo is optimistic by about 20%. For example, at 90mph on the speedo the Origin says 75. I know that most speedos are inaccurate but surely 20% is a bit excessive??

Speedo accuracy should never be more than around 8 per cent optimistic for any production car. If you're convinced it's more than this, take the car to your dealer for inspection.

Mine is about 6% out at low speeds (according to Road Pilot) but it actually seems to get more acurate as the speed rises. At Bruntingthorpe we didn't have the Road Pilot, but were passing the timing lights at an speedo-indicated 158 and timing-gear indicateed 153 - that's only 4% out.

My origin blue i always states that I'm 10% faster than the speedo. Apparently this is consistent with other Elise drivers experience, so I was guessing that the blue i overestimates by 10% or so. Of course thats the opposite direction of what you are seeing, but I've yet to get a ticket.

n.b. blue i is the previous model.

Last time I looked at mine, 3000rpm was 80mph (26.5mph/1000rpm), and your figures equate to 31.8mph/1000rpm, so it looks as if your speedo is over-reading quite a bit.
