RAC Trackstar,Navtrack Proactive,Tracker Horizon??

Need to have one fitted to my 3R that I'm collecting early next week. Any views on any of these devices, best prices etc would be very handy as I haven't a clue and the sooner I get one fitted the sooner I can collect the car!!

I had the full tracker system, GPS and monitoring. Its very impressive, my car was moved and I had two calls, before my wife could walk in the house to tell me it was on its way to the garrage.

Tracker Horizon in mine. Had the same in the 911, never been called into action but the reviews are good.

Costs just under £700 for installation and year 1 subscription, plus £99 per year thereafter.

I went with a Tracker Horizon because it offers both radio direction finding and GPS tracking. AFAIK it's the only one that does, all the rest offer GPS only tracking, so if the car is put in a truck or container or shielded in some other way then the tracking signal will be lost. Also, I think all GPS tracking devices use GSM to signal their position back to the receiving station, which can be problematic (lack of signal etc). Lastly, all 52 police forces operate tracker locating devices in their trafpol cars so there's a pretty good chance the car will be recovered quickly. Add to this that tracker seemed to offer pretty good value compared to the rest made it a foregone conclusion for me.

Tracker is £99 pa as stated, OR £300 as a one-off off the duration of your ownership. If you are foolish enough to sell the beast, the new owner will have to pay a £30 transfer fee to re-activate it and then either £99 pa or £300....
