I'm sure that some of you guys have owned both at some point or you have more seat times in both cars than I have. Or been on the track with one or the other.

I'm honestly trying to compare the 993/996 turbo to the noble. If you guys can rank each car in subjective categories I'd love to hear some opinions. I've driven both and it seem like the porsche offers similiar levels of performance to the noble, but where it lacks handling it makes it up in percieved "quality". Also the porshce will have a far better re-sale value than the noble here in the states. All these factor come into play for me.

Thanks guys
Jeremy

no chance for Porks to hit NOBLE!!

the Noble in the Video was at less of 50% of his possibility.

you can ask the engine sound and turbo to understand that.
Noble is faster than Porsche in any condition.

I followed a 996 turbo at the weekend and could close up on him pretty easily during the straights although he obviously knew the road so left me during the corners (he was accelerating over blind crests while I was braking)

Initial comments pretty much accurate. I'm no Porsche expert but have driven current Turbo on track. Noble is bound to be more fun if you're doing trackdays. Otherwise it comes down to personal preference - and mine's for Noble...

Yeah I believe everyone is spot on, but my personal preference isn't clear hahaha. I really really like the pure performance of the Noble, but the 911 turbo is very classy/daily driveable. I'd probably only drive the noble on weekends vs make the turbo into a semi daily driver. Man I really just don't know which way is best for me hahaha.

Autocar had a nice article on the best car from a-b. The TT with the power kit won, with the noble second and everything else after.

IIRC the Porsche was actually marginally faster (4wd and electrical gimmickry obviously help a lot on the road) and generally more practical.

Of course a 996TT with power kit is about double what a noble costs

Noble v. Porsche: isn't it great that a 1.5 year old sports car (supercar?!) with around 270 models on the road is continously compared to a 40 year old, Gazillions of DM's (euros!) spent on it, thousands & thousands built sports car :-)

The, grocery equivalent, analogy of what Noble is doing is my opening up a supermarket next week and Wal Mart (Porsche), Sainsbury's (Lotus) and Tesco's (TVR) all coming to visit with notebooks!!!

AMG MERC you are correct......but it seems to actually work. Those are the 2 cars that I'm honestly comparing because they offer the best bang for you buck. Even though they are total apples and oranges they are forced into a comparo for me. Over here a 993 turbo(mids 60's all day) is cheaper than a noble(72 built) and a 996 turbo(mid 80's) used isn't that much more than a built noble. So from a pure price point it is only logical....I mean yeah I can go by a Corvette Z06 slap the back of my neck until it is red enough to drive one would that make ya happy??? hahaha
