I have a 3R on order (R110) but looking for a cheap second hand convertible fun option for use on summer evenings. Any suggestion?

Was thinking second hand TVR / Lotus etc. Nothing too female though like MX5.

Thoughts please as too what will compliment the 3R.

Whilst awaiting my GTC i was thinking of something to go along with the current GTO. If the GTC isn't ready for next summer i was thinking of a VX220 which go for a song second hand......................

Elises are good

I'd actually quite like an mx5 to play in though, as the Elise isn't at all easy to powerslide, whilst an mx5 is.

An MX5 with a turbo or supercharger? I've had mine for coming up for 14 years now (about 12 of those with a BBR Turbo) and it's still a brilliant car

I would say that you're not far from the mark with your thoughts on a TVR - but it depends how much you want to spend.

For 20k you'll get a good 96/97 Griffith (or Chimaera if you prefer) 500, which would complement the Noble well. The TVR won't handle nearly as well, will make a completely different noise, and is generally a very different drive - so not treading on the Noble's toes, and you'll be able to pick the right car for your mood. However, like the Noble it would be cracking fun and would barely depreciate - particularly the Griff.
