Has anyone managed to fitt an additional pair of speakers to their car. I took mine to my local
specialist to be told no can do.

Not to be put off with a bit of improv I have fashioned
(from plastic drainage pipe no less) and covered a pair of stands about 12 inches tall that sit behind both seats flush against the centre console.

Very effective in the result with regard to sound.

Once covered in black felt they don't look out of place either.

"No can do!" Doesn't sound like the words of a pro.

The standard Sony head unit is a 4 channel system so it's just a case of mounting the speakers and running cables.

No can do. My words not their's. They did suggest free standing one's, ugly

"Running the cables and mounting the speakers."

Aside from the rear window shelf where else is there?
I tried them there and the sound was not that good, hence the tubes.

I'm going to get the door cards dynamatted and change the speakers for something better, should make a huge difference. Use dynamat extreme as it is much lighter than normal dynamat. Don't think I'll need more speakers once that is done.

How about clamping a small external pair (tweeters?) to left and right-hand ends of the rollbar - hence then pointing right at your ears?

This would sound really nice, but you would need to swap the standard speakers for a set of components otherwise you would have too much treble.
