Indicator stalks.

Had the car out yesterday for its clean before karting/brunters next weekend. Knew the stereo fuse had gone so changed that, Once i reversed it back into the garage for some reason i decided to check lights etc and no indicator. hazards still work fine. think its the stalk as every so often there is a strange clicking from it. Anyone else suffered simalar? need to get sorted for the weekend now. im sure i will last the 5 min run to karting 2moro tho.

get down your ford dealer and get one ordered up

i think its off an escort or an orion - Bondy may have the part number

alternatively take it apart and give it lots of WD40

its strange they last mega mileage on a ford - but not on a noble ?

Yep spotted the part no on Nobleparts just wanted to make sure first. altho pretty sure it is. Have a ford spares place fairly local might call see if they have one. but will try taking it apart tonight.

My issue was wipers, but it ended up being the wiper motor. you can often find the stalk assy on ebay for 10-15 pounds.

yep just been looking on ebay. some say they suit mk5/6/7 escorts are these the ones? Without R/W/W

I think that is correct, ask them to give you the code.

I do have one here as I was keeping it as a spare for when moving to OZ. If you can't get one then I could sort you out mine. But they should be ten a penny.

Yeah think i have sourced it now. Some also have variable intermitent wipers too tho. god why aint it simple.

there is a relay that clips inside the indicator assy - might be worth checking this first

Will open it up for a look tonight before purchase.

Not quite sure how but FIXED. tried another relay on it as thats where the noise/crackling was coming from at first it never solved the problem. But after some proding and poking they now work again. So happy again...

maybe some dirt or dust got in there

yep hopefully dislodged something. Glad i never had to remove the stalk tho. Would need a few photo to note where all the single wires go.
