Chaps,

Whilst ordering my 3R, and viewing one of the first models to arrive at the garage, I noticed an extra button next to the boost gague that had not appeared on the dash of the standard 3. Nobody seemed to know what it was for, but there were suggestions that it was a turbo on/off button. Any Ideas??

As an aside, can I ask if the 3R's still make the Turbo noises that the early threes make now they've move the turbos back. Has that wonderful whoosing now completely disappeared?

Marcos, others here will be able to be more specific but yes, the switch reduces the boost (a kind of cheap stability/traction control safety feature!)- I've been unable to ascertain whether the factory is offering this as an option or as standard. Lee Noble was "playing with it" the last I heard!

Apparently, the turbo noise is much reduced on the 3.0 and 3R's so if you like to noise you'll need a 2.5L!

Yes it's true. My 3R has an extra button for the turbo cut off, but this is currently a dummy and does not do anything except look good.

The factory have had repeated problems getting this feature to work to a level with which they are happy to roll out to their customers, and the last I heard from them on the topic was that they were scrapping the idea all together.

Trust me, the 3R Turbos still wooshes loud enough to be enjoyed!!!
