Just had my car remapped by Trevor Jasper yesterday and boy what a difference it has made. I have a GT03 with a 5 speed box. (Yes I should have bought a 3R or M400 with the six speed box)

I have completed the upgrades required exhaust, intercooler, BOV, fuel pump and loom.

I have only had the car raised another 25bhp, but the main difference is the levelling out of the torque @ 350lbft between 3750revs and 5250revs, it has made the car a lot, lot smoother.

All in all the car is quieter (except for the new fuel pump!), a lot smoother through the rev range, a lot more driver friendly. Dam the car has been reborn!!!! I can’t leave the thing alone! It put an even bigger grin on the old boat race!!!!

So if you have had the experience would you all join in the hail of

“The Remapping, Smooth riding, Cool running, Sweet tuning GOD!!!” that is Mr Trevor Jasper

and not to forget the chaps at Track ‘N’ Road Performance!!!

ALL HAIL!!

Trevor did my 03 after I fitted the Rousch and it was brill. It was developing 380BHP and 360ft lb.
But the open diff is weak and has now had to be replaced with a qaiffe LSD. After cat removal it is now 390BHP and with LSD a transformed car.

You will have to do it eventually, so as soon as the clutch is ready, bite the bullet and get LSD fitted.

I think that I will start to buy all of the parts needed to do the six speed upgrade! But for the time I will have to purchase a restrictor for the right foot!!!

From the limited knowledge I have, it's not the Gearbox that needs attention, it will be the diff.

I have asked many knowledgable fellows, and the 5 speed box on a LSD has not been known to fail. The upgrade to 6 speed is a little pointless, but very expensive. It gives no performance gain IMO

Open to others to put me right.

Trevor plugged his PC into mine once and said "perfect, can't do anything for you Sir" (or words to that effect). So, remapping doesn't apply to all motors but is worth a go on 2.5 and 3's.

Trevor is that rare combination of stunning skills coupled with a personality that is second to none. A rare combination today IYAM.

Got the car remapped (with a couple of extras, not by TJ but...) and for me it also felt like getting a new car. Running 410bhp with 380lbs with standard exhaust and it was well worth the cost because the difference is so noticeable. Would recommend it to anybody.

Some do. In the case of Nicksy's ECU, it still had a very early map (almost certainly the original one) from before my involvement with the factory way back in early 2003. eek Those cars will benefit from just updating to the later maps for smoother running, better starting (particularly hot) and maybe even better economy!!!

Even tried the time honoured (and usually effective) 'washing and polishing' technique, but to no avail, I'm afraid jester

Don't mean to hijack the thread but I'd like to praise YellowShed as well. On his diagnosis( done in his own time ) just had the wiring to the fuel pump upgraded by Kerridges. WHAT A censored DIFFERENCE!! My car is flying now with the correct fuelling, I'm gobsmacked. Cheers Trevor,I seriously owe you a pint.
