INCREDIBLE M12 GTO-3
Discussion
Thanks to you guys and autocar for constantly banging on about how good the M12 is (strange because words cannot describe how incredible this car actually is) I decided to finance myself up to the nuts and get one ... picked it up on Monday - So I'd just like to say a huge THANK YOU.
Also are there any meets in the South over the next few weekends?

Welcome to the "Nobility" M12 JDE (at least I think that's the current thinking for what to call a collection (a gaggle? ) of Noble owners).
There's an owners meet taking place this coming Sunday (24th) at the Old Bell in Grazeley, off J11 of the M4, see:

Not far then, I'm in Sanderstead in South Croydon. Once the machine is back (which unfortunatly almost certainly won't be for this weekend) I would be happy to meet up.
There are also the local TVRCC meetings - they don't mind us Nobler's interloping and are a very nice bunch of people if you wish to meet some more petrolheads!

They're getting popular.
My parents have ordered one and we are in Selsdon (Surrey). We don't pick it up until around April or May '04, but I hope to see you both around in the meantime - they're not too hard to spot. LOL
It seems you have parents of exceptional taste.
As you are about 1 mile away from me, mine will finally get some company around Croydon's roads....
If you/your parents want to come and look closely over mine to check things out when it comes to option choosing and/or ask any questions just shout.

Thanks Justin. You have actually been a huge help already. Your website details what it is like to own the car on a day-to-day basis, which is far more than any car magazine can do.
We have paid both the first and second stage deposits at Mole Valley Chessington. The second payment was made last Thursday and so confirmation will be back from the factory very soon. I expect the order number will be in the low 200's.
We have ordered Azure blue, air conditioning, and of course - the starter button
We have a factory visit lined up in early '04 and will be attending some of the 'enthusiast days' too. Should help pass the time.
Thanks again for your help.
Best regards - Laurence

I just dont understand why Mole Valley insist on the second stage deposit being paid so soon? I ordered my car from HR Owen back in March, its due for delivery within the next 2-3 weeks and I've still only made the first stage payment. I'm sure MV have a good reason but I'd certainly want to know myself what this reason is before making the second stage payment so soon.
I think it works like this:
Some companies are happy to take the 1st deposit, then put up the money for the second one, because they KNOW that if the client cancels the order, they can sell the car anyway - probably for as much as a £5,000 additional charge as a result of the client not waiting the year or so to build the car.
Other companies may decide to take both deposits at an early stage because they do not with to front the 2nd stage deposit themselves and have no intention of buying the car if the order is cancelled. The advantage to this is that if the client cancels their order, the company will pay what's owed to Noble for inconvenience, and keep the rest, or alternatively, pay for the car in full and then sell it for a premium like before. I imagine it gives them more flexibility.
I may be totally wrong in both cases, but my suggestions seem logical as both parties are kept happy, although the client might not see it that way having lost between £1,762.50 and £7,000 in the event of a cancellation
