Help needed - before missus will let me get one
Discussion
Hi All
I've convinced the wife that I have to have a Noble, as my escort run around is not cutting the mustard.
I posted on here last year, to get advice on whether one would actually fit in my garage, and had some replies.
My wife wont agree to me getting one, unless it will go in the garage, as it may attract unwanted admirers to the drive, or worse, the house contents. Anyway, to cut a long story short, can anyone local to me help by seeing if they can park their pride & joy in my garage? I live in Barkingside near the A12 in London, close to Gants Hill tube station. I would appreciate any assistance, as I'm desperate to get one before the summer.
As an aside - I wouldn't have thought stealing one of these would be that common, given that it is a fairly small market, so perhaps only joyriders would be after them - what is the experience out their on this?
Cheers

I am about 5 miles from you, however mine is minus a gear linkage/stearing wheel/floorpan/front clam at the mo, so It might be classed as OFR at the mo. I've convinced the wife that I have to have a Noble, as my escort run around is not cutting the mustard.

In 4 years of ownership I have only ever heard of 2 being stolen, both from the factory at the same time, one they crashed about a mile down the road, the other they "sold" back to Lee for peanuts as they couldnt sell it on anywhere!!
I hate to think what the insurance premium will be in Barkinside, also guessing that any insurance company will insist in it being garaged there as a min.
Have a look at www.gto3.com which has all the dimensions of the noble, get the tape measure out.
FWIW I have a 1950's built single garage and the noble fits in (just) but my Audi A4 wont.
HTH
thanks all for the feedback so far. I think the comment about 'getting out' is going to be key then. Is the door sill quite wide. I went to see a Noble recently at the TVR centre, and pretty much slid out, as I'm 6'3. I distinctly remember thinking s**t, this ain't gonna be possible in a confined space.
Is there a space saving technique to get out, other than winding window down?
thanks

Nope, that's the only trick I know of.snuffy said:
My house is less than 10 years old and you know just how pokey garages are with modern houses ( a single garage that is ) and my Nob fits in. I do have the old bit of carpet on the wall and have to suck my belly in to get in and out ( oo-er missus ) so I reckon you'd be okay.
Does the car fit in though?

i will get one for definate..i'll sleep in it if i cant get out of it.
out of interest, i'm after a 3R so have been keeping an eye on the market. It seems as though the going rate seems to be around 26k up to 30k for decent private car, and maybe a couple more for a trade car. However, i've seen a couple of private cars for sale at 35k which seems high in comparison. What is the general consensus on price for a decent private 3R, and by that i mean lowish miles (low teens is ok), no major mods, and excellent history?
If anyone has one for under £30k then please let me know as i'm keen to get one
thanks
