MOT Emissions

I did touch on this in another thread, if there are no official figures printed for the Noble how can they test at time of MOT.
Reason for asking this is, I am about to buy a car with a H&S exhaust system on and the cat has been left out, but replaced by a section of pipe that can swapped over for MOT purposes.
Just curious as to how they test these cars, or am I wrong, and they do produce emission figures for them.

MOT emissions are based on age of vehicle - make and model is irrelevent.

Depends if you can get a bent MOT...

Or if you have a Roush exhaust like mine, just put the rear cat in and obstruct one exhaust pipe

Noble's will not pass MOT's without CATs. With race CAT's mine just got through.

like your mentality, what do you mean by "obstruct" though?

just taken my cats off and will be putting the decats on today, having had to take the under tray off to do the front pipe i am interested in the "obstruct" technique for later in the year

I think he means, make sure the mot tester puts the probe up the right pipe, not the de-catted one.

oficially if a V engine with two seperate exhaust systems (like the roush) then the tester should do the test two times, once on each exhaust system
