Just wondering what everyone thought of the 3R's body coloured rear spoiler, as opposed to the carbon fibre one on the 3? I wasn't at all sure about the red one I saw at the motor expo, but then I wasn't sure about that colour anyway.

Would it be possible specify the original wing without too much hassle?

Thanks

Sam, I think they are all coming colour-coded now as standard - don't know if you can have the carbon look option now though (don't see why not!).

Of no consequence to me though as have ordered sans wing being fitted (having holes drilled and blanked) and will keep the wing in my garage until needed!

I think you can specify the wing as unpainted on the 3R (had a discussion with the guys at HR Owen when I said I pref'd the carbon item on the 3 as opposed to the painted one on the 3R and they said it wouldn't be a problem to have it unpainted (after all it saves Noble some money not painting it!)).

AMG - if I can borrow your wing and blag another one from somewhere then I'll have the first Red Baron stylee Noble "Tridecker"

The reason behind the 3R rear wing being color coded is that carbon fiber do not like getting old without being protected. After some time the resin in between the fiber at the surface can come out and dust get in, which in turns give a bad surface and poor look.

This is the reason for it being painted now.

amg, what are they going to do with the holes in the bodywork on yours??

They'll drill the four holes (I might need them!) and I plan to request that they plug the holes with plastic caps (most likely black or gray one's from a DIY store - for ready pack furniture!). When I get to it I'll then paint them in the body colour - you won't see them from a few feet away!
