Discussion
alright guys im looking ti buy a noble but only have 20-22k to spend so im going t have to buy the 2.5 model r there ay things i should look out 4 on this model gearbox etc and would it be suitible if not ideal to use as an everyday (ish) car any help would be much areciated ps i have a highl ymodded astra vxr 320bhp 20"alloys etc etc if anyone interested thanks scott
As with everything in live you do get what you pay for Scott. the early 2.5's had an issue with starting due to crap design of the system, there is a kit to upgrade them but it costs 6K just for the bits!...so if your buying a 2.5 ask if its had the ECU / ingition system upgraded, if not make sure that you see the car starting up from cold, first in the morning. Any smoking it needs upgrading.
Hope this helps

Glad I smashed my first one to smithereens. Had starting/stalling issues with that one.Probably saved a lot of money in the long run.
I would say check which ECU (MBE or OMEX preferable) Rad fan upgrade is a deffo must have (larger fans mounted on a shroud) Gearbox not such a big issue on the 2.5 as they have a less power and torque, so a LSD is not a "must have". If you intend to ever go near a track it MUST have the track day sump.
Warrenty would be a nice thing to have(not sure on a older 2.5 whether they will cover you)

I know they don't have as much power, but at the time my diff went I only had 280bhp. So LSD i would say is a good thing to look for. This cost about 4k to put right, but now we have the bar cutting method this would probably only be about 2k.
However, as I have said a few times over the last few weeks. Obes is a steal and in this guys price band. Had lots done to it and although it still has the fixed diff, I believe the map has been done to deliver the extra power with a view to save the diff.

I also believe that Obes has a holding deposit on it... I know they don't have as much power, but at the time my diff went I only had 280bhp. So LSD i would say is a good thing to look for. This cost about 4k to put right, but now we have the bar cutting method this would probably only be about 2k.

Hi,
Mine will be on the market in a few days - its just at Mole Valley now keeping the service history up to date.
Its a 2002 GTO (2.5), it has the ECU upgrade (MBE), and a recently fitted track day sump (done by Noble Motorsport in Chesterfield) - although I've only tracked it twice
Reluctantly leaving the Nobility; I want to go racing and need the cash; can't have this baby as well
There'll be ads up here and Autotrader, etc, in a few days - but if you want any info in the meantime message/email me.
cheers
Shane
