Goodwood Festival of Speed:

Goodwood Festival of Speed was superb - went yesteday to beat the crowds (but didn't quite - I pity you lot going on Sat or Sun!). Simon was there with a red factory 3R. The supercar enclosure was incredible - not only all of the latest models but you could get close-up access to everything (lot's of window smudges!) and talk to the factory staff in detail.

Even IF you could find all this in one place (which you can't) they'd be roped off and you'd be gawping from 20 feet away!) - excellent! Also tried the 6-speed box (well didn't go anywhere!) - it felt very direct and notchy.

Also have some video of the exotics, including the Noble, on the track returning from the top of the hill - will post when I figure our how to transfer video to file!

Well, all was well along the A3 until the A287 turn-left off south for Midhurst, etc. - the queue tailed back for a quarter mile ON the A3 itself at 10.30-ish Fri (so for you on Sun read more like 3 miles!). So we decided to go past that turn-off further south to the Petersfield A272 turn-off and double-back - ending up near to Lavant. The queues into the car-park were not too long and it moved well (it was well-organised) and the walk to the entrance depended, as always, on how early you arrive!

I'd suggest going VERY early myself - enjoy the day!

PS - the ground in bone dry in places and it is VERY dusty so sturdy shoes are required and a clean car will not stay that way for long!

PPS - you do know that its ticket only on Sunday?!
