I know this subject has been discussed before, but whilst awaiting delivery of R35, I have a couple of questions:

Could owners of M12 GTO give examples of how and where their cars have been effected by stone chips. Which areas are most prone. ie Above the splitter ? leading edge above the grill / air intake?

Does Armourfend or similar product really reduce / stop the stone chips?

Do you really need all the Armourfend patches, or just the critical areas?

Are there any other products on the market that you could recommend?

Thanks for your response.

Running my R for 1000 miles in 24 hours had 2 stone chips at the front. Had armour fend on 3R for 2000 miles no more damage. Had it done at there factory, very good job.

Thanks Bill,

How was the driving holiday in your 3R?

Also, sorry to be a pain, but would you say there are areas on the 3R that are critical to stone chips?

Do you recall the cost of the Armourfend?

For a full set of armorfend budget around a grand.

There are other people who do similar for less though, but you need to make sure its decent quality film or it will go yellow in the sun etc. Armorfend is meant to not do that and has a lifetime warranty IIRC.

Got it on my liz and its great. Can't remember the name of the other people who do the cheaper option, apparently its the same film though and half the price.
