OK, I've done it - placed my order for a 3R on Saturday (Kerridges, Suffolk). I've been fooling myself into thinking that I really didn't NEED a Noble for about three months, but finally couldn't resist any longer...

One small point - does anyone agree with me that the plastic silver instrument panel would look MUCH better if it was made from carbon fibre?

Best regards,

Marlon.

Marlon, welcome to the club and congrats on a wise decision!

Carbon look?, nah - I'd prefer a leather trimmed binnacle and dash-top ...classy!

Yeah, but the carbon would match the small bits on the steering wheel and key the whole interior 'look' together... (Christ, i'm turning into that Lawrence L-Bowen bloke from the telly...)

But, do you agree that the silver plastic bits look a bit little naff in comparison with the rest of the car?

Welcome to the fold!

I quite like the Silver, but then I think it goes nice with Blue and Black.

What I don't like is the little black fog light switch - looks totally out of place, but hey - you shouldn't be looking down there when you drive it

.. which silver bits do you mean Marlon - the instrument bezels or the trim around the centre pod (boost guage, and heater/ac switchgear) or the silver trim around the gear-shifter and handbrake - 'cause...

on the 3R model they've replaced the trim around the gear-shifter and handbrake with leather and the centre boss of the steeting wheel is also padded leather now!

So maybe they've got it the way you'd like it now anyway?!

Check out some interior piccies of the 3R here:

Thanks for the pics.

It's the silver trim on the centre pod, i.e. the silver bit that's still there on the 3R! The bit around the gear lever certainly looks better in leather on the 3R than in silver plastic on the "3".

I just think it would look much better in carbon fibre!

My current thinking is that I prefer the alcantara trim to leather, so I'll need to speak to the factory about what they can do.

This is almost as difficult as it was to pick the interior of my TVR!!!

Cheers,
Marlon.

Don't start me on the decisions - I was a nightmare (I must have 25 leather swatches in my file as well as dozens of photos) - but I got there (and haven't even started to think about changing my mind (yet)!!!

Must admit, I have a bit of a thing for carbon fibre (altho getting the missus to dress up in it is likely to be v. difficult ).
The silver plastic is (I think) painted metal of some descrption, however I think that the dash console/gear lever & handbrake surround (mine's a 3) would look good in high-gloss carbon fibre.

In the absence of Noble offering a Porsche-like "small carbon pack" do you know anyone who can manufacture replacement parts in c/f?
nb. The "carbon fibre" bits on the Momo steering wheel are just printed, not real.

Does this mean we should expect to see you in a nice patchwork leather waistcoat courtesy of Noble?

Peeps = people
Looking out the window = eyes front looking out the windscreen

Nope - I've Swissol'd it (competitor to Zymol) and so all it requires is a quick shampoo down using a microfibre cloth, a quick leather and that's it.

It shows up diry rain quite easily - still its such a nice car to look at I don't mind cleaning it ever few weeks.
