Daddysumo is in the process of doing this, maybe he will be along to air his views (when he finaly gets the speakers in, he has had them for weeks)lol.
My stero (std sony) must have had the speaker upgrade as mine is awsome, I looked behind the door card and noticed dynomat. Not sure if it was a std speaker upgrade or not.

Only problem is the ariel is shit and its near on impossible to change.
Replaced the front sony poo with some good quality MB Quart speakers and a Pioneer USB head unit. Definately an inporvement, even without amping up the speakers. Worth getting some sound deadening material too while you at it. I was going to put some 5 1/4 components unto the rear of the door too for a little rear fill, but never finished the project.
The Sony's are Sh*t, replace them with 6" Component JL Audio and replace the cr*p head unit for either high end Alpine or Nakamichi if you want the best. If you want volume with no distortion then you will need a good Amp too. You need the mid and high's in front of you but a good sub behind will add depth.

Ive pretty much crammed in a fair bit of stereo stuff now in the car, two 12" subs, components in the doors, bluetooth pioneer head unit, dynamatted the doors tunnel and behind the seats where the subs are, ran power and earth cables with inline fuse to the amp which resides along the shelf just at the rear window, full pro cabling to headunit doors and subs from the amp, needless to say it nearly now blows the windows out but is hardly noticeable at all unless your inside the car and you can see the amp.

What Subs are you running, what cubic capacity box have you used and is it ported or a sealed encloser? Bondy is correct !
I have an Alpine head unit, Infinity components and a JL Audio Amp as it was the best one with the smallest physical dimensions they could suggest.
I was hoping to install the Amp out of sight but this is impossible as far as I can see,and installing behind the passenger seat means all the cabling will be routed inside the car on view which I had hoped to avoid.
Any suggestions gratefully accepted !
