Wiper Motor Help
Discussion
Sometimes my wipers don't work on the pulsed and medium level but they always work on the fast.
Somtimes you see them want to move on the medium level but then stop. Its not the switch and I've tried cleaning the connections at the connector, which joins the loom to the motor.
Any ideas or is the Motor shagged?
Does anyone now exactly what car the motor is from or how I can find out?
Cheers

Got a very vague recollection of somebody on here saying it came from an old style VW Beetle. Mind you I could be simply having an old git moment Somtimes you see them want to move on the medium level but then stop. Peter,
I asked about a month ago and somone said its from the Mexican Vdub remake. But it was so hard to find any website that did them.
I found it a bit strange that it was the motor Noble selected and not something from a more readily available car?

If your fast setting is always working fine then your motor is fine the offending item you will be pleased to know is probably the ford wiper stalk. They break down inside and give intermittent problems, I have repaired one on a car of mine before but its far easier to get another one and they are cheap and easy to fit too.

That would be nice, which ford and year is it from?

Is it really Mk3 Fiesta gadge? Mk 4 or 5 maybe.
I thought both column covers and both stalks looked very mk6 Escorty to me. Along with all three heater controls
Obviously the wiper stalk would have to be from a 4 door booted car i.e. orion style or a low spec model without rear wiper.....

Took the assy off today and got the part number (I have put it on Noble Parts).
I brought a MK3 Fiesta assy from ebay and it is different.
Fordparts UK told me this:
steering column mounted Multiple Function Switch Assy fitted to the Escort From: 15-01-1995 To: 15-09-2001
They are £85 but I don't know if this is the problem yet so I shall trawl the breakers and ebay.

interesting - I have a mk3 fiesta and the controls are identical
infact the fiesta has a noble steering wheel too so they are identical to look at !
i think the only difference is the rear wash wipe which the noble does not have, maybe its off an orion which did not have rear wash wipe
Bondy - how much did the mk3 fiesta one cost? I might buy it as a spare

Hi mate, its on ebay,
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dl
I paid inc P&P £12.
It is different as it has the horn on it and the escort/orion one has earth points. The escort one comes with either rear wiper or without.
Still not sure if this is the problem though.
Mike did you get my text/email as the part hasn't turnt up.

Bondy, mine was similar and turned out to be the motor.
You're right Peter it was me who told you about the the beetle thing ! When I took the old motor out, it had a VAG stamp, so i took it to the local Volks dealer who eventually discovered it was from an '60's spec beetle ! Plugs are different on the old 2.5's so ended up doing a bit of a rewire with a motor from a TT
O.

Obes, you don't happen to remember the VAG number do you so I can try it (and put it on the parts section).
